On August 7 & 8, Kim Galluzzo is biking from Sturbridge to Provincetown in the 200 mile, 2 day bike- a- thon, "The Pan Mass Challenge". The PMC gives 100% of the money it raises to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute & to the Jimmy Fund Clinic. Kim participated in her 1st PMC 12 years ago to honor the memory of her Aunt Cathy. Now, 12 years later, Kim's still riding!!! The money she raises will be used for research to develop the latest technology, test new therapies & to provide services that improve the quality of life for cancer patients & their families.
Kim rides in the PMC for everyone's loved ones. She keeps all of the names people have given her through the years on her bike, in front of her & she reads their names over & over... ...Kim calls them her "heroes" & their battles with cancer & thinking about her Aunt Cathy gives her the strength & determination to keep pedaling on to the finish line.
I hope that you will consider making a donation to support Kims' 2010 PMC Ride. Here's the link to her PMC profile page ,
PMC Profile where you can view pictures of last years' ride & find out more about Kim, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute & the history of The Jimmy Fund.
If you would like Kim to add a name/names to her bike list, you can contact her before the ride. I have two names that I'm asking Kim to add to her list this year...The idea of Kim pedaling for 200 miles while reading their names is powerful...I believe that having Kim ride for them gives them another layer of protection against cancer & that after the ride, their Aura is a little stronger, tougher & more resilient. I've also given Kim names of loved ones that have lost their battle with cancer & it's an honor to have Kim's ride be partly in tribute to them.
We all know someone either fighting cancer or in remission or who has had their life stolen by cancer. Making a donation to this worthy cause is one way we can fight back. If you can't make a donation this year, please keep the Pan Massachusetts Challenge in mind when you're able to support a charity. The hope is that the contributions will fund the research that will find a cure for all types of cancer.
