On Saturday, February 13th, I went to the Hands Across The Sand protest at Deerfield Beach. The protesters gathered on the beach near the pier and at 1:30 p.m., they linked hands to form a line in the sand to raise awareness of the issues affecting Florida's coastline such as offshore drilling and gas exploration. About 70 people participated in the ten- minute event. Here's one of the pictures that I took and the rest of them are on Flickr. You can visit my Flickr page by clicking the Flickr link in the sidebar or you can go to Flickr and search, Hands Across The Sands, where you will find more pictures that were uploaded by other participants at this statewide event.
